Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and lemon zest in a bowl…
Shit no lemons in the fruit bowl.
Over ripe bananas chide me.
“Waste not want not in times of Corona”.
Imagining the war time spirit of my Nana’s.
Who’d counsel when life gives you no lemons, make no drizzle,
Or you can’t cry over un-spilled juice.
Instead I make banana bread
With chocolate chips, comfort, frugality and making do.
All in one loaf tin.
